This is an all wood Rhombicosidodecahedron. I have seen a few of these in origami and lots in digital, but I havent seen very many of these in wood. (Wikipedia page [link])
It has 20 regular triangular faces, 30 square faces, 12 regular pentagonal faces, 60 vertices and 120 pieces of wood. Each edge of every piece has a 3 axis compound miter so when its all together, all of the wood seams align to the imaginary center of the sphere. This one is 9" diameter because I like to ship them in 12" cube boxes.
thank you, this particular one is about the most complex, although the saving grace is that every piece is identical. Of course, if that piece is even slightly off multiplied by 120 pieces then its back to the drawing board!
