Just a quick 'behind the scenes' look at cutting the wood strips for the geometric sculpture.
It all just starts with 1" shelving (which is actually 3/4" thick) that I saw & crosscut down to the desired piece count. Nothing really pre-bought about it, no pre made strips etc because they would cost way more than just cutting them myself.
Along the back side of the saw fence is a dial indicator used in machining. I can set the fence within a few thousanths of an inch to hold pretty good accuracy, although wood being softer than plexiglas (my usualy medium) it doesnt hold all that perfect, but certianly pretty close.
